2024 in Review: A Year of Growth, Learning and Brave Adventures at BGA

As 2025 begins, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements, milestones, and memories that 2024 brought to BGA. This has been a year of innovation, expansion, and community, with our Learners and staff embracing every challenge and opportunity with the kind of courage that defines BGA’s spirit. From thrilling Build Weeks to the launch of new programmes and ventures, 2024 was a year to remember.

Build Weeks: Fun, Creativity, and Team Spirit

Build Weeks in 2024 were as action-packed as ever, offering our Learners a chance to step out of their comfort zones and immerse themselves in hands-on activities. These weeks saw everything from playing mini-golf to pizza-making sessions that would make any Italian chef proud. Learners tackled exciting obstacle courses, showcasing their teamwork and determination, while others explored arts, volunteer activities, or innovative challenges, all of which fostered creativity and collaboration.

Build Weeks continue to be a cornerstone of the BGA experience, allowing Learners to bond with their fellow Learners while building key skills like problem-solving, communication, and resilience.

Launching New Frontiers: UPx and Brave Academy of Sports

2024 also marked the launch of two groundbreaking programmes that expanded BGA’s horizons.

A Swiss Adventure: Exploring the Hospitality Industry

One of the highlights of 2024 was the unforgettable trip to Switzerland, where BGA Learners had the opportunity to delve into the world of hospitality with the Swiss Education Group. Exploring some of the finest hospitality schools in the world, Learners gained insights into a dynamic industry that thrives on service, innovation, and excellence. This immersive experience not only broadened their horizons but also introduced them to potential career paths in a globally renowned sector.

Celebrating Culture and Community

At BGA, fostering a sense of community and celebrating diversity is central to our mission. This year, we hosted a fantastic Food Fair, where Learners, families, and staff came together to share dishes from around the world, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of our global BGA community.

Additionally, our Literary Festival gave Learners the chance to engage with storytelling, poetry, and creative writing, sparking conversations about literature and the power of words to inspire and connect. We even got to hear from the talented author, Rita da Nova. Events like these highlight the importance of cultural expression and collaboration in shaping well-rounded, compassionate individuals.

Introducing Worktools

In 2024, we launched Worktools, a digital platform designed to enhance productivity and organisation for our Learners. This app allows them to manage schedules, track goals, and collaborate with Learning Coaches more effectively, ensuring they stay on top of their academic and personal development. With Worktools, BGA continues to leverage technology to empower its community and streamline the learning experience.

Brave Future: Expanding Access to Education

Brave Future is an NGO launched this past year that is committed to transforming education in marginalised communities by making learning more inclusive and accessible. Starting in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya, the organisation created a functioning Hub, introducing resources like computers, internet access, and sustainable energy solutions, enabling Learners to follow the British International Curriculum with local and international support. Brave Future also expanded to Afghanistan with the “HerRight” initiative, providing girls a safe space to continue their education. With each project, Brave Future reaffirms the belief that innovative approaches can create brighter opportunities for learners worldwide.

Countless Hub Events: Building Connections Everywhere

2024 saw Hubs buzzing with energy as Learners participated in countless events throughout the year. From local community initiatives to creative workshops, and field trips, BGA provided a space for exploration, connection, and personal growth. These events highlight the unique BGA model, where learning extends far beyond the academics.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we say goodbye to 2024, we’re excited to see what the next year holds for BGA. This year has shown us the power of innovation, the strength of community, and the boundless potential of our Learners. Whether through new programmes, global opportunities, or impactful events, BGA continues to break new ground in education.
