BGI is separate from BGA's secondary education programmes, with its own focus: helping adults build in-demand, career-relevant skills through recognised, university-backed credentials. Where BGA is about personalised learning for teens, BGI is about lifelong learning for professionals: two initiatives under the same Brave Generation belief that education should be flexible, relevant, and never one-size-fits-all.
The case for certification has never been stronger. Certified professionals typically earn 25 to 40% more than uncertified peers, and workers with professional certifications or licenses see markedly lower unemployment (around 2.5%, versus 5.6% for those without one). Employers see the return too: organisations report close to $18,000 in additional annual value per certified employee, through stronger performance and better problem-solving. It's also becoming easier to access that value without a traditional degree; a recent industry survey found 85% of HR leaders have dropped degree requirements for many roles, putting more weight on demonstrable, up-to-date skills.

Since 2012, edX has grown to over 100 million learners across 190+ countries, offering more than 5,300 programmes through 250+ partners, including Harvard, MIT, Google, IBM, and Microsoft.
